HI! My name is Meredith Hale! I graduated with my B.A. in Elementary Education from Trinity International University in 2008. My greatest title is Mommie to four amazing kids. I started tutoring in 2014, which was the start of this amazing learning community. I enjoy reading (really!), making music, working out, and doing anything outside.

I'm Laura Johnson, and I'm excited to be tutoring at the Learning Door! My husband and I moved to Bartlett in 2019 and welcomed our daughter in 2020. I enjoy reading, baking, and having fun with my family. I taught in an elementary school for six years before coming home to take care of my daughter. I absolutely love teaching and making connections with students– watching them grasp a concept and build their confidence is one of my greatest joys!
Hello, my name is Megan Frey. I am a secondary education teacher specializing in high school English and ESL. I earned my Masters of Art in Teaching at National-Louis University. I have had the opportunity to tutor grades K-12 as well as ACT Prep. I live in South Elgin with my husband and my three kids. We love to spend our time traveling and being outside. I'm excited to work with students and help them achieve their potential!

I graduated from North Central with a degree in Elementary Education and Spanish, and have a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Masters Degree in Teaching English Learners. I have 15 years of teaching experience in Pre-K to 8th Grade. My favorite thing to teach is reading and phonics; I love to see the lightbulbs go off and the confidence of the child grow!

I have been working in education for nearly 20 years now. I have experience working with children from Pre-K through high school in one-on-one and classroom settings in all subjects. I provide services in math and literacy at The Learning Door. I enjoy spending time with my wife Maria and my two daughters Samarah (10) and Evelyn (8). We have two golden doodles that bring lots of joy to our lives too, Mozart & Ruby. I look forward to working to meet your child's needs and assist him or her in growing leaps and bounds!

My name is Megan Patterson and I am so excited to be a part of The Learning Door! I am a wife and a mother of two littles. As a family we love to bake, play board games, and explore the outdoors. For the past four years, I have taught high school math at Westminster Christian School. While I loved being in the classroom, I am looking forward to working with students in a smaller setting and focusing more on individual growth and success.
